Lutai moved to Samara for one year when his rink in Belgorod closed and then in 2001 to St. Petersburg after his
sister asked coach Mishin to take him into his group. Lutai's brother and sister were skaters as well, and he was
coached by his sister before he left Belgorod. Lutai broke his foot in summer 2005.
