| Stefan Lindemann is the first German man to medal at Worlds (bronze in 2004) since Norbert Schramm took the |
| silver in 1983. He is also the first male skater from Germany to win Junior Worlds (in 2000). Lindemann started to |
| skate when he was four years old. He wanted to switch to ice hockey when he was 12 years old, but his mother |
| stopped him. His skating idol is three time World Champion Elvis Stojko. Lindemann also admires speed skater |
| Gunda Niemann-Stirnemann for her competitive spirit. |
