Galina Maniachenko was a successful junior pair skater, winning the bronze medal with Evgeni Gilgurski at the |
1994 Junior World Championships. In 1995, she was severly injured in practice when her partner hit her in the |
face with his blade during a side by side camel spin. Maniachenko retired from skating for one and a half years |
and then decided to come back as a single skater. |
