Christina and William Beier are brother and sister. Their mother is from the Philippines, their father is German.
They moved to Germany when they were 6 and 7 years old respectively. They had relatives who worked at the ice
rink in Chemnitz and started to skate just for fun. When they were 12 and 13 years old, they left their family in
Chemnitz and moved to Dortmund as they had much better practice conditions for ice dancing there. Beier/Beier
switched coaches right after German Nationals in January 2004. They were unable to compete at the 2004 NHK
Trophy because their luggage with their skates was lost on the way to Japan.
